MOCK UPS
Combination: A joining or merging of different parts or qualities in which the component elements are individually distinct. For this project I combined the ballets legs, with the top of the scissors.
Juxtaposition: The fact of two things being seen or placed close together with contrasting effect. Similar to combination, this project has a bird beak and the scissors added together causing a contrasting effect.
Isolation: Creating emphasis on a part of a work by isolating it from the rest. The gold scissors are isolated from the silver ones due to it's color and being open instead of closed.
Environmental Change: A change or disturbance of the environment. Rocks do not break easily, but in this project the environment changes with the snip from a pair of scissors.
Metaphor/Simile: A figure of speech in which a word or phrase is applied to an object or action to which it is not literally applicable. People say words hurt others, so I created a metaphor with someone not wanting to speak evil anymore.
Material Change, Swap or Focus: Rock, paper, scissors. Not in this case. The rock is defeated by the scissors in a swap for the throne.
Physical Shape Similarly: The shape of an alligators mouth is similar to a pair of wavy scissors in this project.
